Thurseday moods

Today was a really dark moody day. First I missed my train, the second one got delayed. I arrived late at work. My computer sort of crashed on a really inconvenient moment. I have loads of deadlines coming up. We ran out of tea in the office.
It can't get much worse, I tell you.
(Well of course it can, but luckily it didn't).

It was such a relief to come back home, lie down in the couch, wrapped in a woollen blanket, get a cup of ginger tea, have home made soup for dinner and to get a hug from Mr.!
I love coming home.

Of course it is common knowledge to us that every woman should pamper herself on a regular basis! In fall and winter however, we get to suffer a lot more than usual (dry skin, chapped lips, terrible colds, etc.) and thus have a valid excuse to bluntly spoil ourselves ;)

And how is this to be done you ask? Quite simple: Take a long hot bath, put on your favourite perfume or lipstick, eat a whole bar of chocolate without feeling guilty, wear silky soft lingerie or -and this is one of my personal favourites- go shoeshopping!

Travel Stories

Hi there!

As you might have picked up I went on a city trip to Sevilla last weekend. So instead of a Message Monday I thought I'd give you a little travel report...

Sevilla is a lovely city for sightseeing (the architecture is AH-mazing), shopping (Spain is the homecountry of Zara, Mango and Massimo Dutti, which are three of my favourite shops!) and of course eating delish tapas!

And that was about everything I did there, oh except for drinking a little bit too much of 'Tinto de Verano' ;)

Hi there darlings!

Last weekend I went on a City trip to Sevilla in Spain and I've got to say that when I came back I thought my bum was gonna freeze off (in Sevilla it was about 26°C). So being back home I faced the truth: it's time to leave summer behind and go for a cosy, warm, wintery feel inside your house...

And the best way to achieve that look, is to add loads of soft pillows and warm blankets in your sofa. Maybe add a fluffy rug on the floor and some nice thick curtains et voilà: your home is winter-ready ;)

With Autumn of course rain comes too. It can't be helped. Today was a particularly drousy day here in Belgium (with lukily some rare rays of sunlight troughout the day). Rain and cold, and particularly rain + cold, will probably be things I will never like. But the trick is to like the tings that come with them: pretty raindrops on the windows, impressive dark skyes, warmth and coziness inside the house, ...
I praise myself lucky I could spend the day inside, with canles lit, tea in large amounts, chocolate cake and lovely things to read.

This Fashion Friday is all about keeping warm in Fall! You know, when you're not emotionally not ready yet to put on that wintercoat, but you don't want to freeze your bottoms of eiter...Well at days like this the solution is to simply throw on a very big sweater! Warm, slouchy, chunky knits, preferably with elbow patches. They also look very nice with a belt or combined with a perky hat!

And you know what the nicest thing about these sweaters is? They're so comfy you feel all day like you're lying in your couch on a Sundayafternoon ;)

Unfortunately I haven't had the upportunity to drop off a secret message this weekend, so instead of Message Monday I bring you Magazine Monday! We at Thé Dansant absolutely love flipping trough fashion and interior magazines! Here are a few of our favourite online mags.

Lonny Magazine celebrates it's first anniversary this month! A special occasion wich definitely calls for a visit, for there are lovely prices to win!

Rue just published it's first issue. It's a 261 pages long treat for interior design lovers!

Also relatively new is Covet Garden. A lovely magazine, where each issue is dedicatet to one home.

Chocolate Stories

Bonjour mes chéris!

Of course we adore le thé, but you must know we also love hot chocolate! Since today was a lovely fall day, I made myself a cup, put on a scarf and sat in the garden to catch up on my magazine reading.

A very delicious tip: Add some potted orange zest to your chocolate, tastes just like orangettes!

Shop update on Monday!

Tea Tuesday

Bonjour!

This week I'm drinking my tea in the company of the paper instead of a fashion book. I dare say it must have been the first time I've ever bought myself a proper newspaper! But since I started studying Journalism last week, the paper has become required reading! I must confess I felt a little lost between al those politicians whose face I had seen once on the telly, lawsuits I once heard gossiping about and football-players that could hardly grasp my attention.

Great was my joy when I discovered the lifestyle and culture section, where I could read about Belgian Designers in Paris Fashion Week! Altough I'm afraid this won't help me much when I'm being tested on my knowledge of the current political situation in Belgium...

Oh well, I suppose I'll get the hang of it in a few weeks ;)

Message Monday

Bonjour!

What have you been up to this weekend?
I went shopping on Saturday, looking for a new winter coat to my liking. Wich I sadly didn't find. But I did came home with a new dress from ZARA (where I also 'accidentally' lost a pink envelope in the dressing room), a belt from Massimo Dutti and a top from Esprit.
On Sunday I went to see a dear friend, the weather was lovely and warm and we sat in the garden and drank tea!
