Fashion Friday
1. Scheltens & Abbenes for Nike ,2.-3.-4. Fashion Gone Rogue

Hi there!

Today I extended my membership at the gym. The perfect opportunity to buy new sportswear, because sporting is just much more fun when you feel like a fashionqueen instead of a dork in ugly joggings! Here's some pretty inspiration...

Have a nice weekend my lovelies!

Wedding inspiration Wednesday

Wedding inspiration Wednesday

Even though making wedding-plans is not actually on my to do-list for the next couple of years, I - like most girls - love to dream about my perfect wedding from time to time. I love small and intimate weddings, preferably with a garden party and cute DIY-tablesettings... So romantic, light and sweet!

What does your dream-wedding look like?

PS: Idiot that I am, I forgot to save the URL from the lovely wedding blogs where I found these pics, so should you recognize any of them, please comment so I can link to them in the post!

Tea Tuesday

Tea Tuesday

Good evening ladies!

I've had a completely and utterly exhausting, nerveracking, feet-killing, horrible day! Seriously, try working in a shop without airconditioning during sales in this hot weather and you'll know what I'm talking about... That's why I assumed it was fair for me to have some quality-cocoon-time tonight. Meaning: A cup of fine Earl Grey and a lovely romantic BBC Period Drama - Oh, and not to forget, loads of chocolate ;)

Bye now!

Message Monday

Bonjour my sweets!

I hope you all had a happy Monday! Here the weather has been beautiful, I had a friend over for a small visit, dyed my hair a blonder shade of blonde and did some ironing! I have to get clothes together, because I'm leaving to France on Friday. I can't wait!

Our message of this week was left behind on the billboard in the ladies room of one of our favourit cafés in Ghent: Het Spijker. We went there last weekend for a refreshing glass of RoomeR, a local alcoholic drink made of elderflowers. When you ever are in Ghent you should try it, because it really is heaven in a glass!

Bonsoir!

Saturday is for seasonal fruits

Saturday is for seasonal fruits
1. Wild, 2. [153/365] sour cherry jam, 3. happy weekend & fresh berries tartelettes, 4. Pancakes with berries

Bonsoir mes belles!

I hope you all had a fabulous Saturday! For me it was my first day off work in two whole weeks! I stayed in bed until almost noon, got up for a late breakfast of blueberries and fresh cheese and two hours of reading interior magazines. After that I took a long shower and painted my nails pink! (Pink makes me happy, you should embrace pink too!)
Lunch included home made pancakes with strawberries and some more reading. I did make myself usefull too today, doing some cleaning up the bedroom (it was really about getting time!)
I rewarded myself with a well deserved cup of tea and two wild peaches. As you can see, the red line through my day is fresh seasonal fruit! I love fruit, especially all types of summer berries (raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, mulberries and cherries are my definate favourites).

What's your favourit summer fruit?

Bisous,

Ice Tea Tuesday

Tea Tuesday

Hello my dears!

Since I had the day off, I spent my afternoon in a comfy chair in the garden, flipping through fashion magazines. And since it was (again) a very hot day, a steaming cup of afternoon Tea just might have killed me. So I opted for the more refreshing equavalent: Homemade Ice Tea!

All you need is half a litre of hot earl grey tea (better make it stronger than usual since you're gonna add some ice cubes). Add two slices of lemon and honey or sugar and stirr well. Let it cool down in the fridge. Put some small pieces of watermelon in your glass, a few mint leaves and off course: ice cubes. Pour out your tea and enjoy!

Santé!

Bonjour mes amis!

This weekend I went to a summer-bar called Beau Soleil. It's located in the lovely garden of an old parsonage. I got to admit I really enjoyed laying in a hammock with my man while sipping a freshly made Mojito and chatting over the delight of a Roomer (a drink made of elderflower) with my friends. And off course drinking some water too, to avoid a hangover on Monday ;)

I hope y'all had an equally relaxing Sunday!

Fashion Friday: Models off duty

Fashion Friday
Photos by Altamira: Models off Duty

Bonjour mesdemoiselles!

It's time for our weekly load of fashion again!
This time we have selected four inspiring looks from the Models off Duty blog (If you haven't already, add it to your feed!). This blog is dedicated to the (amazing) outfits of models when they are not at work.
We like the mix of classic, girly and rough in all these four looks. Have you ever seen boyfriend sweaters combined so well with a biker jacket (every girl should have one in her wardrobe, what do i say? One? A girl can't have enough of them!), or doc martens paired with a super feminine and sweet dress in a perfect perfect (perfect!) way? I last wore doc martens when I was sixteen. When seeing this, after 7 years the doc martens voice in my head starts talking again: "Buy yourself a new pair! You really should!"

Beauty Stories

Beauty Stories

Bonjour mes amies!

I don't know about you guys, but these days there's nothing I like better then laying in the sun to work up my tan and get an extra dose of vitamin D. The downside is I tend to get very lazy while sunbathing and more then occasiannally I doze off a little bit... Hence the slighty reddish nose I'm dealing with right now ;)

So I decided to give my poor skin a little treat with a banana-honey mask! Banana is soothing and hydrating, exactely what you need after being over-exposed to sunlight. Honey cleanses, repairs and also hydrates.

Here's what you do:

You mash half a banana. Then you add three teaspoons of honey and three tablespoons of oat meel. Mix it all together (if neccesary add a drop of water). Apply the mask on damp skin and let it rest for 15mins. Then wash off with lukewarm water. Voila!
My skin feels soft and smooth, although it might take another day or two for my nose to get back to it's normal colour...

Bisous!

"The footbath", painted by Helen Maria Turner

Bonsoir mes belles!

When you have a job that requires standing on your feet all day long, just like us, you need to take good care of them, so that they:
1. Get some good leisure time to be all fit and ready for the next work day
2. Look pretty and healthy

One of our favourit parts of foot care is taking a foot bath! You should do so at least once a week!
Foot baths offer so many options when it comes to ingredients. You can go for plain warm water, add sea salts, rose leaves, lavender, ...
Our pick of the day is a foot bath that is actually a giant cup of lime blossom tea: take two tea bags of lime blossom tea, and add it to your foot bath for a calming and soothing effect. Let your feet soak for 15 to 20 minutes. When you have your pumic stone at hand you can work on that annoying callus too. Do not forget to completely dry your feet so as to prevent fungal infections when you finish your bath! As a finishing touch, apply your favourite foot creme or lotion, and you will have really really happy feet!

So, now I'm off to make myself that giant cup of lime blossom tea!

Bonsoir!

Bonsoir my lovelynesses!

Altough I personally prefer black tea with a splash of milk, one musn't forget to sip a cup of green tea too once in a while! In case you didn't know allready green tea happens to be très, très good for you!

For example: Green Tea leaves contain natural fluoride (you know, the stuff they put in toothpaste) wich helps to strenghten your tooth enamel - hello, shiny white theeth!

Another active ingrediënt of Green Tea are it's antioxidants. These help you detox your body. Wich will help you to lose weight.
Green Tea is also know for it's positive effects on your skin. Not only does it make your complexion acne-free and healthier, it even retards the aging proces!

But it doesn't only preform miracles for you looks. It's believed that Green Tea can help you lower your cholesterol, control diabetes, prevent the formation of cancer and make chemotherapy more effective.

Oh my, can you believe all that?! I'm making myself a cup right away ;)

Cheers!

Bonsoir mes belles!

Finally the summer holidays have come upon us! A period of time that starts in Belgium with the Rock Werchter Festival... I myself love to go to festivals and picking out the edgy-punky outfits for the occasion. And what better way to dress rock-chic than in black? Okay, I'll admit the pictures above should be taken with a grain of salt (I mean high heels at a festival - No way!), but you can see where I'm heading. A paneled black dress, messy hair with red lipstick to match is the new rock 'n roll! And while your at it, why not toss is that studded bracelet?!

Thurseday Treat

Thurseday Treat
1. White ceramics, 2. Ranunculus, 3. Selina Lake - Fresh flowers, 4. bouquets2

Bonsoir!

If we already told you, no problem, we cant stress this enough: you should treat yourself to fresh flowers from time to time. Cut them from your own garden, go for a walk and collect wild flowers, go to the florist or combine all three into a stunning bouquet.
Flowers bring life, freshness, energy, peace and pretty into your home and your life! Especially now, when there are some many sorts available: peonies, roses, alliums, hydreangea's, astrantias, ... You can combine them with all sorts of greens like ivy, alchemilla, and even fresh herbs from the garden (spot the sage leaves in the last photo?) for an effortless look!

We know we like! We bought peonies and astrantias earlier today. We should try to treat ourselves to flowers more often. Yes, we often forget it too. It's a real shame!

Bisous,
Isis
