Beauty Stories

Hi my darlings!

During hot sunny days like these, there's nothing I enjoy more then a nice refreshing beverage! Even better when this drink contains lots of vitamins and enzymes that preform miracles for your health and appearance! Here comes the recipe for a delicious smoothie that 'll give you a radiant complexion and hydrate you skin:

All you need is: 1/4 apple, a kiwi, 5 slices of cucumber, half a glass of milk and some ice cubes! I added some strawberries too, because of the lovely pink colour ;). Throw everything in you blender and serve it while it's cold!

Cheers!

Bonsoir mes belles!

I will keep it short today, since here in our attic computer room the heat is nearly killing. Even at this time of day. There are two important things we want to share with you today:

1. WE NEED A LARGE GLASS OF HOME MADE ICED TEA TO COOL DOWN!

2. Our home was featured over at BLOESEM. (I am SO proud :-)

Actually there is a third thing, so here goes:

3. Next week we will be sending out our third tea party (aka newsletter) which will be all about YOU and how to treat yourself to some special you-time during a hot summer weekend. So, if you haven't already subscribed, do it now :)

Bonsoir mes belles!

I trust you all had a lovely-relaxing weekend! I spent my Sundayafternoon on the terrace of an adorable tavern, chatting with friends over a delicious glass of sangria! I've gotta say this sunny weather really brings me in a summery mood! Bikini's, flappy hats and shorts, refreshing cocktails, barbeques, poolparties... Aaah, I'd wish summer could last forever ;)

Sunny Greetings!

Fashion Friday : In style to see the sea

Fashion Friday

Photos by Mikael Schulz, Nils Odier and Calle Stolz

Bonsoir mes amies!

I so totally want to go to the beach this weekend, it's the perfect weather for it. Sad little me has to work though, so I will have to live on dreaming a little longer. This luckily leaves time to plan the perfect sea trip. For me this includes:

1. A pretty bikini in a soft sandy colour;
2. A frilly girly beach dress to wear over it;
3. Fresh drinks and lots of summer fruits for lunch;
4. Eating italian ice cream in the late afternoon;
5. Bring the boyfriend;
6. Leave the jeans at home (the wet jeans in the photos don't seem all too comfortable to me, I will sign for that sunset though!)

Are you already on that flying carpet, dreaming with me?

Bisous,

Isis

Bonsoir mes pétites!

Here's to a lovely collection of styled chairs (or stoelen as they are called in Dutch). On the contary of what most people believe, chairs can serve much more purposes then only to be seated on. I just love the idea of using a pretty chair as a table to put your flowers or books on! It's really a magnifecent way of putting your favorite chair more in the picture... Actually I use an adorable pink vintage chair as bedside table! Wich reminds me: It's already past bedtime for me ;)

Have a nice night!

Bonsoir à tous!

Today was/is a dark and moody day, despite the beautiful weather outside. It's that time of month again, and no matter how hard I try to fight them, my hormones dictate me to feel sad and lonely and tearful. Every small thing that goes wrong becomes a huge obstacle, impossible to overcome. Despite the fact that I know it's only silly things, and I would laugh with them in other circumstances, I get lost in self pitty. And the man isn't even here to comfort me, and make silly jokes and get me laughing.
So, in a sudden moment of clarity, I decided to grab together what's left of me, and try to comfort myself. Here's my 5 step plan:

1. A huge, bottomless cup of tea;
2. A bowl of strawberry ice cream;
3. Comfy loungewear;
4. My cozy bed and something nice to read;
5. Go to bed early and wake up another, happier me.

What do you do to live through moments like these?

Tea Tuesday

Tea Tuesaday
1. Sandra Lane, 2. Tea Time by Sussie Bell

Hi my dears!

I have to admit I'm feeling a little bit uninspired today. Maybe because my head is still feeling the consequences of a late night out! I might have had a teeny tiny tad too much wine... These things can happen when you go for a drink with an old friend ;)

But headache or no headache I still tried to give you girls a Tea-Tuesday-treat! Flowers and teacups - we love them both and we love them even more together!

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna drink another cup of tea, watch a gossip girl and wear off my hangover ;)

Sweet kisses,

Fashion on Monday

Bonsoir mes belles!

To make up a little for our missing Fashion Friday post, we serve you another portion of fashion à la crème on a silver plate!
Last Friday for me was a very fashionable kind of day: it was spent entirely backstage at Movement #17. I was assisting one of my oldest (ever since seventeen) and dearest friends, Katrien, who is graduating from the Ghent academy in fashion. The day was spent helping dressing up the models, calming Katrien's nerves, taking pictures (see above), watching the show rehersals, and a lot of waiting (waiting seems to be an inevitable part of fashion shows). It was a lot of fun, the models were cute and lovely and amazingly pretty, the clothes were stunning (I am Katrien's self-declared biggest ever fan) and the show was memorable!

Fashion on Sunday

Hello my dears!

I must sincerly apoligize for being so terribly late with your weekly dose of fashion! Alas Friday I was running rather un-fashionably late for a date with my boyfriend, so I didn't have time for a post. The rest of the weekend I spent working in our new house (or maybe I should say ruins, given the current state it's in?). So now on Sundayevening after enjoying a long hot shower, I finally found the time to make myself a cup of tea, sit behind my desk with a nice blanky over my knees and give you galls a your long-deserved portion of fashion...

Fashion on Sunday

Fashionable lingerie that is! Soft pinks, nude colours, shiny satin and delicate lace, with a hint of black to spice things up... I think you get the picture! Every lady deserves to have gorgeous retro lingerie like this. Not because it's absolutely sexy and you man will love it (wich it is and he will), but just because it makes you feel glamorous, pampered and luxurious!

Bonne Nuit!

Wednesday: Ode to la bicyclette!

Wednesday: Ode to la bicyclette!
1. Garance Doré, 2. Toujours amoureux , 3. Fashion on bicycle by We are photo , 4.The bicyclette

Bonjour mes petites amies!

This Wednesday I'd like to make an ode to the fabulous vehicle we call a bicycle! There's nothing more romantic than riding trough the fields in a summery skirt, the sun shining on your face and the wind blowing out your hair... Or going going to the market and returning with a basket full of fresh flowers hanging on your wheel! Riding the bicycle is healthy, good for the environment and it gives you a more 'naturelle' blush then you'll ever be able to achieve with your favorite Chanel Rouge ;)

Of course rouler au bicyclette is even more fun when it's a pretty one! We totally adore vintage bikes in black or white! Maybe ask your granny nicely if you can 'borrow' hers... Even more fun is to give your ride a personal touch by painting it in whatever colour you want (Duh...pink!)

Have fun cycling!

Tea Tuesday - the petite version

Tea Tuesday

Bonjour (or bonsoir, depending on where you are!)

Have you ever heard of a petite tea party inside a tea cup? Well, you might consider it impossible, but IT CAN BE DONE! The people behind The Wee Garden can at least!
After working all day in my totally neglected garden that has been conquered by weeds of all kinds, these miniature gardens look so peacefull and easy to maintain.
This wee garden has a try this at home sticker all over it!

Hello ladies!

I trust you all had a fabbidy-fab weekend? In any case, we did! We went to the cinema Saturday to indulge in sugary popcorn and coke and off course Sex and the City II. After enjoying two and a half hours of cosmo's, shoes, drama and witty conversations we left behind a secret message and went home to chatter about it over a hot cup of tea!

I'm off to bed now, dreaming off the day I'll be able to afford my own pair of Manolo's ;)

Bonne

Domestic Stories: Cleaning out your closet

Bonjour chères amies!

It is absolutely fabuleux to have lots of gorgeous clothes! But somewhat less fabulous is when you can find any of them because they're all stuffed in a closet way to small for your stash, underneath piles of clothes you hardly wear! Off course this was the case with my wardrobe. And since today I couldn't find anything decent to wear (and no, it wasn't because all my clothes were in the laundry since we did that yesterday) I decided to stay indoors and tackle this problem ;)
Domestic Stories: Cleaning out your closet
I started by taking all of my clothes out of the closet and putting them on my table. Then I sorted them out: Shirts with shirts, skirts with skirts, pants with pants and so forth! Next step was to eliminate everything that was ugly, wore out or not worn over a year. Since I was already in the mood of throwing things away I also dove in my underwear drawer and my elaborate collection of belts! When finished I put everything very neatly back in my closet and sorted out the 'toss' pile: Which things can be given to goodwill and what goes straight to the garbage bin?

I have to say I feel an awful lot lighter now! Plus: I feel like my wardrobe has grown in stead of slunk! At least now I can see what is actually in my closet! I should do this more often ;)

Nighty night now!

Wednesday Laundry Day

Wednesday Laundry Day
by Sandra Juto, 2. the forgotten bride 2, 3. Vintage Clothespins, 4. Washing day...

Bonjour my favourite pretties!

Today was a day for household sores. Including lots and lots of laundry (we got behind on that without noticing!). One good trick to make it all a little more agreable: make your laundry tasks look as fabulous as the photo's above, and it will become a joy instead of a bad horror movie.
So we keep telling ourselves anyway!

Good night!

Tea Tuesday

Tea Tuesday

Bonjour my lovelies!

My head feels like a bus has run over it and my brain is acting very silly. I'm tired, my throat is dry and I'm actually quite hungry. Oh and also, my back is hurting like hell! How come? I've spent the entire day, laying in bed with my pyjamas on, reading in my adorable, but highly addictive birthday presents: The entire Gossip Girl Novel collection! The only reasons that could force me to get out of bed were a quick sandwich around noon, making a fresh stack of tea and the obligatory visits to the toilet.

Now just to make things clear, I've started reading these books when I was like fourteen, so I'm actually just reading them out of nostalgia and not because I'm completely obsessed with them... Well, not really anyway. And besides, I think we all deserve our guilty pleasures when it comes to reading tacky books or watching corny sitcoms!

So there, I've spent the entire day reading teenage chicklit and drinking tons of tea. Judge me if you want, but I enjoyed every second of it ;)

What's your guilty pleasure?

Bonjour mademoiselles!

Today I have a very good excuse for being late with our Monday post: yesterday it was Nimue's birthday! So celebrating came before the blogging :)

This time we left our message in our favourit spare ribs restaurant in town: Amadeus! We love the interior despite it's kitchy-over-the-top-ness. With its mix of boudoir style with a bit of gipsy and a little hint of french café, it's just a really cozy place to be. And they have a lovely garden where you can sit as well.

Also, we put these pretties in the shop for you!

Shop update!

Nimue will be entertaining you with a post concerning tea later today!

Au revoir!

Fashion Friday: Marquis & Camus

Fashion Friday

Bonjour mes belles!

What a lovely day today is! I've been reading in the park, crocheting away in the garden this morning, drinking tea (off course!) and eating lots of water melon and other juicy fruits. After finishing this post I'll be off to town to treat myself to some new make up and run some errands. Afterwards I'll pick up Nimue from work and we will go eat out in a very lovely little restaurant. We will show you more of our evening in our Message Monday post next week (which reminds me, I should not forget to take my camera!).

But, first we need our weekly dose of fashion!

If you don't know the jewelry of Marquis & Camus yet, that is now about to change! We love these dramatic and royal pieces! The good thing is you can wear them with everything ranging from wedding gowns to cocktail dresses to jeans and back. They have the power to elevate a dull everyday outfit of jeans and a t-shirt to something bold and powerfull, and paired with a classic evening dress, you turn into a real diva. We love!

See you soon!

Sneak peak Thurseday*

*Strictly speaking we are already Friday! Oh well :)
Black stain creamers

Black stain creamers

Bonne nuit!

Over the past few weeks we have been working on a new little project: meet our new limited edition of creamers! They are very straight forward, have just a sprinkle of arrogance (the attractive kind), are not afraid to stand up for their own opinion and beliefs, yet they are very civilized and refined. They add a bold touch to everything they do and everywhere they go. They like getting loads of attention and their favourit beverage is: guess... MILK! And we happen to know they would be very interested in having a little romance with your favourit tea cup! These hunks are looking for some female beauty and elegance (and the best part is, they are not scared off by intellegent women)!
Will it be a match?

We will add three of these guys to our shop on Monday!

We have something really special to share with you in tomorrow's Fashion Friday post, so stay tuned!!

Sleep tight!

Mancandy Wednesday

Bonjour mes belles!

Not only needs a girl a regular portion of interior-candy, fashion-candy and food. She also deserves a snack of man-candy to get trough the week. And that's exactly what I'm giving you gals today ;) Please have a bite of these gorgeous men in tuxedo's. They're sensitive, polite, good kissers, smoking hot and on top of it all true gentlemen! What a shame they don't make men like this anymore. Well at least they can live on in our dreams *sigh*

Tea Tuesday with lemonade and chocolates

Tea Tuesday with lemonade

Bonjour mes amis!

This Tuesday we're doing things a little different. In stead of the usual cup 'a tea we decided to have a refreshing homemade lemonade - hihi, that rhymes - today! What you need is a lemon, fresh mint leaves and mineral or sparkling water. Just squeeze some of the lemon juice in the water and add the mint (you can squash the leaves in you're hand first, so that the full flavour comes out). If desired you can add some sugar or syrup to sweeten things up a bit!

If you feel more like drinking tea anyways, we have some something delicious for you to serve it with: Caramel chocolates!
Tea Tuesday with chocolates

You melt some black chocolate and pour it in teeny tiny cupcake-shapes. Let it stiffen a little bit and then turn it around so that the chocolate can stick to the edges. For the stuffing you need caramel paste (for example this one from Galler) and almond powder. Mix them together. When the chocolates are completely stiffened, you can get them out of the shape and put in the stuffing. Tadaa!

Bon appétit!
